Dublin backing Lambert

Former Norwich striker Dion Dublin believes Paul Lambert is the right man to guide the club through the rigours of Championship football. Optimism around Carrow Road is high ahead of the new campaign after Lambert guided them back to the second tier at the first time of asking, winning promotion from League One as champions. The success has seen the Scot's stock soar as one of the best young managers in the game, and Dublin reckons the 40-year-old can take Norwich to the top half of the table this season. Dublin - a fans favourite during his time at City - told the Eastern Daily Press: "They have got a great manager and I think they will do very well. I think after being promoted Norwich will be a force, they will look to consolidate, but I am hoping they will do more than that. "If they can get to 10th then the fans and the manager will be happy, but they will probably want more and the fans will definitely want more. They have 21,000 season-ticket holders and with that comes a bit of pressure, but it is going to be a really interesting season for them and I hope they do well. "It is difficult after you have won the league and you have those expectations, but the pressure is good and I think that is what the top managers and the best players look forward to."
