City star's backing for Burley

Burley handed Hughes his full international debut against Japan last month and believes the former Ipswich manager was unlucky to lose his job.[LNB]He told the Norwich Evening News: "I do feel sorry for him but it's football I suppose. He's probably old enough and experienced enough to know that's the way it works and it's a results business.[LNB]"But he's probably feeling a bit let down by the SFA that they gave him their word to go ahead and then sacked him. That's the way of the world, it's the way football goes and I'm sure he'll bounce back and get into work somewhere else.[LNB]"It's strange because I don't know why they gave him the backing two games ago to take us into the next campaign. It was a disappointing result against Wales but the SFA sort of make things hard for themselves.[LNB]"It's done now but it's probably a bit harsh because you can't give him the job to take us forward and then sack him a couple of months into it. That's the way they've done it now and hopefully they can get somebody in they'll stick by."[LNB][LNB]
