Fotheringham was a free signing in January 2007 and made 76 appearances, scoring four goals, but has not played since reacting angrily to being taken off during the 2-1 home defeat against Coventry on February 28.[LNB]Eagle has made 12 first-team appearances but has struggled to break into the side and has not featured at all this season.[LNB]Both players were out of contract in the summer and manager Bryan Gunn told the club's official website: "Both players are aware their best chance of playing first-team football lies elsewhere.[LNB]"Robert Eagle has worked very hard since emerging from our Academy ranks but has found it very tough to break into the first team and this gives him the chance to focus on new challenges and kick-start his career.[LNB]"Mark Fotheringham also wants to play first-team football and again with this news he now has the opportunity to secure a place with another club."[LNB][LNB]
