Canaries coach scoops top award

The Canaries have been virtually unstoppable since Lambert replaced Bryan Gunn at the helm in August 2009, and the City boss beat Leeds manager Grayson, Brentford chief Scott and Southampton manager Pardew to the award. [LNB]They have clambered into second spot in the League One table and are well on course to make an immediate return to the second tier.[LNB]A phenomenal run of form throughout December has helped to lift them into the automatic promotion places, with four wins taken from their five league fixtures last month.[LNB]They plundered 13 goals during those fixtures and conceded just three, with all of those coming in a six-goal thriller against Yeovil.[LNB]Lambert thoroughly deserves the plaudits which have come his way, after overseeing the impressive reversal in fortune at Carrow Road, but he has been quick to praise the role of others in Norwich's success this season.[LNB]He told Sky Sports News: "I am delighted with everyone connected with the football club. I think you only get awards when other people are doing well for you. The group of lads who are playing week in, week out have been terrific.[LNB]"I think they are playing with a lot of confidence at the minute and the crowd have galvanised us. They have come in their droves, home and away, and that is a massive help to those on the pitch. The lads deserve credit, though, for what they have done.[LNB]"I think the most important people at any club are the players and fans, and I still think that. We need other people to drive us on. [LNB]"To be fair, the lads are playing with great enthusiasm for the game and are getting great results. But the crowd have played a big part."[LNB]Norwich currently sit eight points behind Leeds in the League One title race, and have played a game more than the Whites, but Lambert insists the third tier crown still represents an achievable target for the club.[LNB]"I don't want to settle for second, I want to try and win it," he said.[LNB]"Leeds are a bit away from us, and a are a really good side, but we will do all we can to pull them back. [LNB]"We will look after our club at the minute and we will try and catch Leeds if we can, but I'm delighted with the progress."[LNB][LNB]
