Butterfield leaves Carrow Road

Butterworth took charge of the games at Exeter and Brentford after the sacking of Bryan Gunn but has left after the appointment of Lambert as new manager at Carrow Road. He made 293 appearances for the Canaries after signing in 1987 from Nottingham Forest and rejoined as Gunn's number two in February. He told the club's official website: "Things haven't worked out during my time here in difficult circumstances and I obviously felt the new coaching team wouldn't want me hanging about. "I have therefore taken the decision that it is right for all parties for me to move on. "I wish everybody at the club every success in the future. Hopefully the boys can quickly find their feet and start getting improved results."
