The club are one of the oldest football teams being founded in 1874 and have played on the same grounds for over 125 years but now play at their new Victoria stadium in Wincham. From 1892 - 1894 the club were members of the football league division two. 1979 the club were founder members of the Alliance premier which is now known as the football conference.
