Brunt in Baggies talks

Sheffield Wednesday have allowed winger Chris Brunt to open talks with Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies have offered an undisclosed bid for Brunt which has been accepted by the Owls.

Chief executive, Kaven Walker, told Wednesday's official website: "West Bromwich Albion have matched our valuation for Chris Brunt.

"We have always said that if we receive a bid for a player which matches our valuation we will allow them to speak to the respective club. Therefore we have given Chris permission to speak to West Brom."

The 22-year-old Brunt has scored 25 goals in 153 appearances for the club since making his debut in March 2004.
