O'Neill wants Northern Ireland job

Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O'Neill will be interviewed for the vacant Northern Ireland manager's job this week.

O'Neill will take charge of the Irish club for the final time in the Europa League clash against Tottenham on Thursday.

O'Neill wants a shot at the Northern Ireland job And the 42-year-old hopes a shock win over Harry Redknapp - who is a leading a contender to replace Fabio Capello as England boss - can help his chances of earning Northern Ireland role.

'It's like any other job you do, once you're tested and meet that test then you will progress,' said O'Neill.

'The European games are where you are really tested.'
