Who Will Hold Their Nerve?

Wembley final a test of character

Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson has hailed his side's 'big-game mentality' after a season which has seen the Bantams defy all the odds in reaching the League Cup final.

Aidy Boothroyd, however, has tasted play-off success himself and knows that the likes of Clarke Carlisle and Bayo Akinfenwa are unlikely to freeze at Wembley.

"Getting to Wembley is an achievement but it's only an achievement if you can finish the job off," warned the Cobblers boss as he juggles the need to prepare for the game while not overdoing the build-up with a fortnight's gap between semi-final and final.

"It's a job that has got one more game to go. At the start of the season we set out to try and win promotion and now we've got an opportunity to achieve that in a one-off game."

Bantams winger Kyel Reid, meanwhile, is in confident mood, telling the Telegraph & Argus: “It’s been a fairytale season and there has got to be a happy ending. That will close the book.

“We’re going back to Wembley and this time will be very different. I’ve got a good feeling about how things have gone for us this season."
