Unbelievable! It's Northampton's night at Anfield

One of the greatest nights in the Cobblers history Northampton Town matched the mighty Liverpool for 120 minutes at Anfield on Wednesday night, drawing 2-2 with their illustrious hosts in the League Cup before Ian Sampson's exhausted heroes beat the Premier League giants in a penalty shoot-out. Abdul Osman took the glory of scoring the winning spot-kick but every one of his team-mates deserve nothing but the utmost praise. Michael Jacobs had earlier sent the travelling fans into dreamland with a goal 8 minutes into extra-time and only a David Ngog equaliser allowed LIverpool to take the game to penalties.
