Sampson swoops for duo

Northampton Town have strengthened their attacking options by snapping up the Limerick striker Stephen O'Flynn.

The 27-year-old former Derry City forward has agreed a contract with the Cobblers that will keep him at Sixways until the end of this season.

"Stephen spent a couple of weeks with us just before Christmas and he impressed, so we've moved quickly to get him in as soon as we could," boss Ian Sampson told Town's official website.

"He has a real hunger to do well and to grab this opportunity we've offered him. He's a goalscorer and a good finisher but he works hard for the team as well.

"We know he'll fit in well and we're pleased he's joining us."

Sampson has also snapped up Portsmouth defender Luke Wilkinson on a month's loan.
