Moore earns Dons dramatic point
Sammy Moore struck the stoppage-time equaliser as 10-man AFC Wimbledon rescued a late point in a 2-2 draw at lowly Northampton.
Darren Carter looked to have won it as Northampton came from behind to lead 2-1 but the Dons produced another late comeback to snatch a point.
For the third home game in succession Cobblers faced a side reduced to 10 men with the first-half dismissal of Wimbledon's Jack Midson and again failed to make the most of their numerical advantage.
Chris Hackett flashed a shot wide as Cobblers started well but Charlie Wyke headed wide before the visitors broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Tom Richards crossed for George Francomb to finish well.
Wimbledon almost doubled their lead when Leon McSweeney went close to scoring an own goal, his attempted clearance hitting the bar.
Carter tested keeper Ross Worner and Emile Sinclair fired over before Northampton equalised from the penalty spot in the 29th minute. Worner punched away Hackett's corner and Midson then handled Sinclair's cross and was sent off, leaving Carter to clinically convert the ensuing spot-kick.
Alan Connell shot at Worner, Brennan Dickenson fired wide and Matthias Kouo-Doumbe went close just before the break.
But after the restart Cobblers again struggled to break down ten-men Wimbledon. Sinclair headed wide from another Hackett corner but it was the visitors who looked more likely to win it.
Andrew Frampton headed over, Moore fired over and Michael Collins was denied by Matt Duke. But Carter finally put Cobblers ahead in the 79th minute when he curled a superb 25-yard shot into the bottom corner of the net.
Substitute Ian Morris went close to increasing Northampton's lead late on but Wimbledon equalised four minutes into stoppage-time when Moore converted Alan Bennett's cross. Sinclair almost won it at the death for Cobblers when Worner tipped his shot on to the post.
