No injury setback for Coke

Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray is relieved that midfielder Giles Coke has not suffered a setback in his recovery from a serious knee injury.

A scan has shown that the former Mansfield Town star can return to training and could feature in this weekend's League One clash against Leeds United.

"Giles had a sore knee on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning," Cobblers boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website.

"Because of that, he didn't travel to Swindon with us. But over the weekend it settled down well and he had a scan on Monday.

"The good news is that the scan showed no problems and no changes and he trained strongly on Tuesday morning without any ill-effects.

"After being out for a long time you can get soreness in the first few weeks after you've returned and we hope it was just one of those things.

"We'll monitor him carefully as the week goes on with an eye on Saturday's game."

Coke has made five appearances for Northampton after being sidelined for almost 12 months with the knee injury.
