Northampton Town manager John Gorman has allowed Mitchell Cole to return to Southend United following his loan spell at the Sixfields Stadium.
The 21-year-old midfielder joined the Cobblers in mid-September and made nine appearances for the League One side.
"I've spoken to Steve Tilson and he's told me that he'd like Mitchell back now his second month has come to an end," Gorman told Town's official website.
"We'd like to thank Steve for allowing Mitchell to spend a couple of months here and of course we thank Mitchell for his efforts. We wish him every success in the future."
