Cobblers snare Hayes

Northampton Town have completed the loan signing of Leicester City winger Jonathan Hayes for the rest of the season. The Republic of Ireland Under-21 star has been on the fringes of the first team at the Walkers Stadium since signing last summer from Reading. His seven appearances for Leicester have mostly been from the bench. He was an unnamed substitute in the Foxes' FA Cup tie with Southampton last weekend. Cobblers boss Stuart Gray is pleased with the signing. He told the club's official website: "Jonathan is a player I've known since my time at Reading and I've kept tabs on him at Leicester. "He's an attacking wide left player with a lot of pace, which will cause defenders problems and stretch teams." His previous loan spells include Forest Green, Chesterfield and MK Dons while still at Reading.
