Northampton Town have snapped up Gillingham defender Danny Jackman on a free transfer.
Jackman, 24, has agreed a two-year contract and will officially sign for the Cobblers when his Gillingham contract expires at the end of June.
The former Aston Villa trainee made over 70 appearances for the Gills in two seasons at the Priestfield.
"I worked with Danny when he was a young professional at Aston Villa," Cobblers boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website.
"He knows how I work and I know how he works. He was unfortunate not to break into the first-team at Villa, but rather than sit in the reserves he took the decision to move on and get his career moving.
"I have been looking for an out-and-out left-back and Danny fits the bill. He is strong in the tackle and has plenty of pace about him."
