Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray has revealed he hopes to bring former Port Vale forward Luke Rodgers to the club.
Rodgers has departed Vale after his contract was terminated by mutual consent last week.
The 27-year-old has been on loan with Yeovil Town, but has yet to sign for a club on a permanent basis.
Gray told BBC Radio Northampton: "I remember when I first came to this football club Luke caused us problems while he was playing for Crewe.
"We have a shortage of bodies now and I'll be looking to strengthen the squad this week," he added.
