Cobblers land Deuchar

Northampton Town have snapped up Gretna striker Kenny Deuchar on loan until the end of the season.

Deuchar, 26, scored 66 goals in 82 starts for the Black & Whites but asked to be placed on the transfer list at Raydale Park earlier in the season.

"I know a lot about Kenny from my previous scouting work," Cobblers boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website.

"At 6ft 4in he has a huge physical presence and will be a different outlet for us.

"He is a target man, but as his record shows he is a target man who knows where the back of the net is.

"Not only do we hope he will do that, he is a very intelligent lad and we hope his presence can help create space for others.

"At the moment he is on loan to end of the season, but things could go further if the move goes well."
