Cobblers enter loan market

Northampton Town manager Stuart Gray will enter the loan market after winger Liam Davis was injured in Tuesday nights friendly defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

The 22-year-old will be out for around two months after x-rays confirmed he had broken a metatarsal.

Speaking to Northampton Chronicle & Echo, Gray said: "It is obviously a blow for us and a blow for Liam.

"Liam was looking sharp in the game on Tuesday before he was injured, but now we know the extent of the injury we think it will be around eight weeks before he is available again.

"There is no point moping about it, we have to get on with things and Liam will start his rehabilitation process immediately.

"Liam will be under the care of our medical team and we look forward
to having him back in first team contention as soon as possible."
