    Cobblers clinch double deal

    27 Mar 2009 - 10:47:04

Northampton Town boss Stuart Gray strengthened his defensive options on loan transfer deadline day by landing West Brom's Jared Hodgkiss and Adam Watts until the end of the season.

Hodgkiss has spent the last six years at The Hawthorns, signing professional terms with the club in January 2006.

"Jared's a player that's caught my eye in the past," Gray told the Cobblers' official website.

"We played West Brom in a pre-season friendly here at Sixfields and I was impressed with his performance in that game and I've also seen him play for their reserves."

Meanwhile, Watts is a graduate from Fulham's successful Academy system.

He has still to make his first-team debut for the Cottagers but featured in two games for MK Dons during a loan spell at stadium:mk in the 2006-07 campaign.

Of Watts, Gray added: "We're really pleased to have signed Adam, who's very highly-rated by his club.

"He was sought after by a number of clubs who were all keen to take him on loan so we're happy to have won that race."
