    Cobblers add Cox signing

    22 Mar 2007 - 16:43:03

Northampton Town have signed Reading's teenage forward Simon Cox on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old has already spent three months in League One this season during two separate loan spells with Brentford.

Cox has made a handful of substitute appearances for the Royals since progressing through the youth ranks at the Madejski Stadium.

"Simon is a good young player and a great prospect," Cobblers boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website.

"He is a striker and I am very grateful to Reading for letting him come out on loan to us.

"I've seen him play a lot for Reading's reserves and hopefully he will have as big an impact here as (fellow Reading loanee) Alex Pearce has had."

Meanwhile, Northampton winger Jerome Watt has joined Salisbury City on a month's loan.
