    Clarke agrees Town switch

    20 Jan 2009 - 11:48:35

Northampton Town have completed the signing of Ipswich Town striker Billy Clarke on an initial month's loan.

The 21-year-old Irishman recently impressed while on loan at Darlington, scoring nine goals in 25 games for the Quakers.

Coblers boss Stuart Gray told the club's official website: "Billy is a lively, hard-working striker who is very mobile. He has got good pace and is decent in the air for his size.

"He is only 21 years old, but he has already made nearly 100 senior appearances and did well at Darlington during his time on loan there earlier this season.

"He has got good awareness and I have watched him in reserve-team football where he has always impressed me.

"We are grateful to Jim Magilton at Ipswich for allowing us to borrow Billy."
