The Cobblers continue to be dangerous going forward but are struggling to stem the flow of goals against
Having scored in eight successive league games, Town have also shown some frailties at the back and three defeats on the spin have dampened talk of a play-off push.
In some ways it is a scenario that was anticipated in the summer as Aidy Boothroyd put his faith in the quality of his attacking signings and their ability to outscore the opposition.

"Until we get that consistency about us then we’re going to end up drawing and losing a lot of games, and that will see us end up in a mid-table position," Boothroyd told the Chronicle & Echo ahead of the weekend clash with Torquay United."That’s where we are the moment and where we’ll be until we improve that side of our game."
