A big game at the wrong end of League Two sees crisis club Plymouth host a Northampton side who have been in turmoil themselves following the departure of manager Gary Johnson and then caretaker David Lee after last weekend's 7-2 hammering by Shrewsbury.
The Pilgrims woes continued with an FA Cup exit at the hands of Stourbridge on Tuesday night but they will be boosted by the arrival of experienced centre-half Purse, on loan from Millwall.
The deal runs until January initially for the 34-year-old.
