Former Cobblers striker Kevin Wilkin, who is in charge at Nuneaton Borough, recommended Thornton to the club.[LNB]"Kevin has had three good weeks with Northampton," Wilkin told the Northampton Chronicle & Echo. "They've put an offer to him but I don't know if it's where he wants to go, we'll have to wait and see.[LNB]"We'll see how it develops, he's still our player. He wants to get back towards the level he was at and you have to understand that.[LNB]"I honestly don't know when he will make a decision. I still think he has work to do fitness wise but Northampton have made an offer because they want to bring him there."[LNB]Meanwhile, Stephen O'Flynn is thought to be close to agreeing terms with the Cobblers, but Simon Brown has yet to make a decision on the offer to become goalkeeping coach at Sixfields.[LNB][LNB]
