Town boss in no rush to spend
The Cobblers boss is happy with the core of his squad but is aware he needs to make additions.
"The squad needs strengthening - that is obvious from where we finished last season - and that is what we are working on," Gray told the club's official website.
"But we will take our time to bring the right players in. As with a lot of managers up and down the country, it is a case of being patient.
"We have a good base of a squad here already under contract but we need to bring more players in. Over the last couple of weeks a lot of talking has been taking place and hopefully that has paved the way for things to happen as we get closer to the start of pre-season."
