Too Easy To Talk Of A Turning Point?

Northampton's late leveller at Torquay on Saturday has the feel of a crucial goal

Kelvin Langmead netted in injury time to end a run of three straight defeats and earn the Cobblers the point that Aidy Boothroyd felt was the least they deserved.

"Torquay's goal led a charmed life at times," said the Town boss.

"I thought our set players really caused problems for them and I thought our two front players - Clive Platt and Adebayo Akinfenwa - were a real handful for them all match and at the back we looked solid."

With plenty of injury problems still to deal with, Boothroyd can now enjoy a midweek without a game to prepare his squad for the festive period.

Five games in two weeks start with two sides in the bottom four, Aldershot and AFC Wimbledon. Six points from those could see Town in the play-off places by the time they take on league leaders Gillingham on December 29th.

Langmead scored his third goal of the season and also picked up his third yellow card. Check out his season stats by clicking below.
