Thornton braced for Cobblers bow

The midfielder was short of match fitness ahead of Saturday's scheduled clash between the two sides but the decision to postpone the game due to a waterlogged pitch has enabled him to get some crucial work under his belt.[LNB]He will now be vying for a place in Sampson's immediate thoughts along with fellow new arrivals Luke Wilkinson and Stephen O'Flynn.[LNB]Central defender Wilkinson and striker O'Flynn have both arrived on loan and will be keen to prove their worth as the Cobblers look to extend their five-match unbeaten run.[LNB]Winger Liam Davis (foot) and striker Steve Guinan (groin) have both started running again as they step up their rehabilitation, with Sampson hoping to have the pair available again by the end of the month.[LNB]Meanwhile, 19-year-old striker Joe Benjamin has rejoined Eastbourne Borough on loan until the end of the season and will therefore not be available.[LNB][LNB]
