Northampton boss Ian Sampson was delighted after seeing his side extend their unbeaten run to 11 games and move into contention for the play-offs following their 4-0 victory over Accrington. Top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa turned in his 11th goal of the season to set the ball rolling before a brace from Billy McKay and a further strike from Luke Guttridge. "It was a well deserved victory. Accrington can't have any complaints about the result, we were excellent," said Sampson. "Our last three performances weren't that good but I was very happy with the way we played, we were patient and kept the ball well. "I'm still trying to consolidate our position in the top half of the table. But we're on a good run and if we can keep it going we can start to look at the play-offs. "We've got the momentum at the moment but there's always something around the corner in football to kick you in the teeth."
