Sampson targets signings

Northampton manager Ian Sampson is hoping to bolster his squad ahead of Saturday`s trip to Oxford. The 41-year-old watched on in horror last weekend as his side threw away a three-goal lead to lose at home against Hereford. Sampson`s misery was compounded by on-loan Newcastle defender Ben Tozer returning to St James`s Park having been sent off against the Bulls, prompting the boss to look for reinforcements. He said: "We are still chasing players for certain positions but it's proving quite difficult. There are players available but it is important that we bring in the right players and experienced players are proving hard to come by. "We will keep working on it but if we haven't got anyone in before Saturday then we will go with what we've got. "Leon McKenzie scored a hat-trick last week but that doesn't mean that we aren't still looking for another striker to complement the options we've already got."
