Sampson reflects on one that got away

Northampton manager Ian Sampson was left to rue a missed opportunity as his side were held to a goalless draw at home to struggling Barnet. Town have subsequently slipped one place to 14th having missed out on the chance to close the seven-point gap on the play-off positions. Sampson said: "I knew it wouldn't be an easy game but we need to beat teams who are near the bottom. "We were clinical on Tuesday against Crewe but we didn't create enough chances here. "Barnet made it difficult for us and closed us down quickly in midfield. They had us on the back foot in the first half but we dominated the second half and in scrappy games like that you need to take your chances. "We had two very good ones in the second half which we didn't take but that's one defeat in six games and another clean sheet. But if we are going to keep this run going we`ve got to improve our away form."
