Sampson puts contract talks on hold

Northampton manager Ian Sampson is putting contract talks on hold until the end of the season. Like most lower league teams, the Cobblers have a large amount of players out of contract in the summer but Sampson is not interested in starting distracting talks now. The Cobblers boss still believes a play-off place is achievable for his side and will wait and see what division they are in before extending any contracts. He said: "I made a point last year of not making any decisions on players' contracts until the end of the season but I know in my mind who I want to keep. "I'm not going to divulge that information at the moment and all I'm focusing on is Aldershot on Saturday."
