Gilligan, 22, is the Cobblers' longest-serving player having made more than 140 appearances since being signed by former manager Colin Calderwood in 2005 and has been in solid form since Sampson took charge last month.[LNB]Sampson said: "He's had a good start to the season and he has been one of our better players so it's disappointing that he is missing out this weekend through suspension.[LNB]"He is showing more maturity on the pitch than he has in the past and he is a decent player.[LNB]"I think he can play at a higher level and he will have a good future ahead of him if he keeps progressing."[LNB][LNB]
