Sampson plays down promotion talk
Goals from Luke Guttridge and Adebayo Akinfenwa secured three points for the Cobblers and lifted them to within six points of seventh-placed Chesterfield.[LNB]But a cautious Sampson said: "When I came to the job my first priority was to get into the top half of the league.[LNB]"We're still only 13th so that's still my first task but when we get there we'll take another look. It's an old cliche but you've got to take one game at a time.[LNB]"I thought we dominated the first half and could easily have had two or three goals by half-time and certainly deserved more than one. We expected them to come out strongly and they did for a while but even then we controlled the second half and kept our performance with some really nice touches."[LNB][LNB]
