Sampson, 40, is second on the all-time appearance list for the club after playing 449 times between 1993 and 2004 and is in temporary charge of first-team affairs following the dismissal of Stuart Gray on Tuesday morning.[LNB]Cardoza said: "Absolutely he is in the running. He is desperate to be given the job.
