Sampson confident on free transfers

The Cobblers have added defenders Patrick Kanyuka and Peter Gilbert to their ranks in recent weeks after they found themselves without a club and Sampson believes the chance to get players in on permanent deals is preferable to an influx of loan signings.[LNB]He said: "We're still looking to get players in. If we can get the right kind of loan player, someone who is going to come in and play in our team, then that's something we would look at.[LNB]"You've always got to be looking. You're looking for now and for January, and you're looking at players who are out of contract at the moment.[LNB]"It's not ideal but you can get them into the club and mould them into the type of player that you want them to be.[LNB]"That's what we want and we're exploring that avenue mainly at the moment. We haven't just gone and signed these unattached players straight away, we've got them in and had a look at them, and got to know them as people."[LNB][LNB]
