Sammo wants Tozer deal

Northampton manager Ian Sampson admits he would like to extend Ben Tozer's loan deal with the club until the end of the season. The Newcastle defender extended his deal at Sixfields by another month last week and Sampson has been delighted with the partnership the 20-year-old has formed with Dean Beckwith. "Ben is here for another month and he's finding out how hard this league is - it'll make a man of him," Sampson told the Northampton Chronicle. "He's played 14 games in his career so far and he's learning in a tough league but he's doing well so far which shows what a good player he is. "He still makes the odd error and the odd bad decision but that's because he's a young player, those things will come with experience. "I'd like to take Ben until the end of the season but I need to have a chat with him and his agent and see if we can work something out."
