Purcell predicts promotion push

Northampton striker Tadhg Purcell believes the Cobblers can push on and mount a promotion challenge this season. The 25-year-old has signed a two-year contract at Sixfields after an impressive six months with Darlington last year and will be the focal point of Ian Sampson's attack this season. He said: "I am a versatile forward and my aim is to get as many goals as I can. "I scored against Northampton twice last season and when Ian Sampson got in contact I thought straight away that it looked like a good club and a good opportunity. "I had a few offers over the summer but Northampton looked a stable club where I can really settle in. "The team finished respectably last year and I think with the players we have we can push on and achieve good things this season."
