Oxford United Versus Northampton Town

Saturday's big League Two game at the Kassam Stadium

Northampton Town make the short journey to the Kassam Stadium on Saturday afternoon in good spirits after the win at AFC Wimbledon last Saturday lifted a huge burden from the shoulders of Aidy Boothroyd's side.

The Cobblers will look to take that confidence into a game against an Oxford United team whose home form has been a cause for concern so far this season.

U's boss Chris Wilder was pleased with his side's performance in defeat against Portsmouth in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in midweek as some of his fringe players staked a claim to start against Town.

He told the official OUFC website: "We’ve talked about the need to work harder. "Aidy was at the game on Tuesday night and he’ll have seen that we did that with the younger players in the team, so that was really good." Cobblers Mad will have reaction from the game on Saturday evening.
