Emmanuel Sonupe pushing for first Northampton start

Emmanuel Sonupe is pushing to make his first start for Northampton in Tuesday's EFL Cup clash with West Brom.

The 20-year-old came off the bench in Saturday's 0-0 Sky Bet League One draw with AFC Wimbledon.

Jak McCourt, Raheem Hanley, Brendan Moloney, Lawson D'Ath and Rod McDonald are short of match fitness but are likely to be included in the squad.

Boss Rob Page has confirmed D'Ath and Joel Byrom will be given starts soon with the Cobblers having failed to score in their last two games.

James Morrison is set to make his first West Brom start since January after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Chris Brunt is out for the Baggies with a knee injury which has kept him on the sidelines since March, but is expected to return to full training next month.

Kane Wilson, 16, may feature for the visitors, with Jonathan Leko, Boaz Myhill, Rickie Lambert and midfielder Sam Field all in line to start at Sixfields.

Cristian Gamboa and Sebastien Pocognoli may also be involved despite having no future at The Hawthorns and the club looking to find buyers before the end of the transfer window.
