Holmes out for Cobblers
Ricky Holmes is likely to miss out when Northampton welcome Plymouth to Sixfields.
The midfielder, used on three occasions as a substitute so far this term, suffered a back spasm prior to the clash against his old club Barnet and remained on the bench with a problem which is likely to rule him out this weekend.
Defender Zander Diamond will train on Friday, though, with a view to being back in the squad following his groin injury.
Ryan Watson, who signed on a loan deal from Leicester on Thursday, could make his debut but Brendan Moloney (knee) and Evan Horwood (groin) remain absent.
Plymouth go to Sixfields with a fully fit squad to pick from.
Striker Jake Jervis is likely to be available for the clash after his surprise return from a groin injury to play in the 4-1 win over Carlisle on Tuesday where he scored twice.
Boss Derek Adams admitted he took a risk by playing him, but he has not suffered any adverse reaction to that outing. Adams has no other selection concerns to contend with.
