Northampton forward Ricky Holmes back in contention to face Northwich

Northampton forward Ricky Holmes is hoping to make his first appearance since August in the FA Cup clash against Northwich Victoria.

Holmes has been sidelined due to a back injury but returned as an unused substitute in last week's home win against Yeovil and is expected to feature.

Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole will miss out due to a one-game ban after reaching five yellow cards, but defender Brendan Moloney is back in contention after serving his suspension.

Boss Chris Wilder has no new injury problems as his side, unbeaten in eight matches, bid for a sixth straight win in all competitions.

Northwich, of the eighth tier, go into the tie with boss Jim Gannon having close to a full group of players to select from.

Gannon made eight changes to his starting XI for Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Trafford in order to give key men a rest.

That included forward Jordan Williams, who scored in both the initial first-round tie against Boreham Wood and the replay that Northwich won 2-1.

An ankle knock to utility man Matty Clarke is the only injury concern in Gannon's squad.
