Cobblers receive Platt boost Clive Platt will return to the Northampton squad for the visit of league leaders Gillingham. Platt failed a fitness test on a calf injury and missed the 3-3 draw at Burton on Saturday but the striker has been given the all-clear to play on Tuesday night and is expected to be on the bench. Teenage forward Lewis Wilson is also available again after a dead leg sustained during a behind-closed-doors friendly against Peterborough last week saw him miss the trip to the Pirelli Stadium. Experienced goalkeeper Shane Higgs is likely to be among the substitutes again after completing his nine-month rehabilitation from a ruptured Achilles tendon. Midfielder Ben Harding (ankle) and defender Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi (knee) are the only absentees. Danny Jackman joins suspended team-mate Bradley Dack on the sidelines for Gillingham. Jackman was given his marching orders for a lunge on Andrew Tutte 33 minutes in Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Rochdale - the Gills' first in the league this season. The midfielder now starts at three-match ban at Sixfields as Dack completes the same punishment for his red card in Gillingham's league clash against Southend last month. Charlie Lee (leg) will be assessed to determine whether he can make a return but fellow midfielder Jack Payne (groin) is taking part in extra training to up his fitness levels. Manager Martin Allen is again likely to continue his rotation policy to cope with the punishing fixture list and that means recalls for the likes of top scorer Danny Kedwell and Charlie Allen.
