Jak McCourt misses Northampton's League One opener

Northampton have early-season injury concerns as they prepare for their Sky Bet League One opener against Fleetwood.

Jak McCourt will likely be sidelined for two months after he sustained a shoulder injury during the Cobblers' friendly win over Nuneaton.

Alfie Potter and Sam Hoskins are available after sustaining knocks but Brendan Moloney and Raheem Hanley still lack match fitness.

Captain Marc Richards returns to action after an Achilles injury ended his season prematurely during their League Two title-winning campaign.

New Fleetwood manager Uwe Rosler, appointed just last weekend, has had little time to evaluate his squad.

Former boss Steven Pressley oversaw a host of new signings before resigning ahead of the new campaign.

Dutch midfielder Ricardo Kip is one of a number of potential debutants with defender Ashley Eastham, goalkeeper Chris Neal and striker Aaron Holloway also in contention.

Other summer recruits include Cian Bolger, Elliot Osborne, Alex Cairns, Michael Duckworth and Matt Urwin while Rosler has not ruled out further additions before the transfer deadline.
