Huws set for Cobblers debut On-loan midfielder Emyr Huws is primed for his Northampton debut when they host Exeter. The 19-year-old has been borrowed from Barclays Premier League champions Manchester City until January, with Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd hailing the move as a big coup for his npower League Two side. It is not certain he will acquire a starting berth against the Grecians, though, as Boothroyd was impressed with the XI which defeated Colchester 2-1 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday. The ex-Watford boss admitted it was difficult to change a winning team in his pre-match press conference, but the return of Danny East and Clive Platt could force his hand. Defender East missed out against the U's due to a shoulder injury and must pass a late fitness test before his involvement is determined. Striker Platt has been troubled by a persistent calf problem, but has been in training this week. Exeter boss Paul Tisdale is sweating over the fitness of Alan Gow and Scot Bennett ahead of the trip. Striker Gow has been having treatment on an ankle injury but should return while Bennett is a bigger doubt as he continues to struggle with a leg problem. Matt Oakley and Tommy Doherty both returned for last weekend's defeat to Port Vale and should retain their places having come through the match unscathed. Midfielder Liam Sercombe is expected to be restored to the starting line-up. He returned to the bench in that fixture after recovering from an ankle injury but is now pushing for a recall to the first XI. The Grecians have lost three of their last four fixtures but have actually won four of their five matches on the road.
