Wilder to ring changes

Northampton manager Chris Wilder looks set to make several changes for the Capital One Cup first-round tie against Sky Bet League One side Blackpool.

The Cobblers claimed a 1-0 opening-day win over Bristol Rovers in League Two on Saturday but Wilder is keen to freshen up his side to maintain the energy at the top of the pitch.

Strikers Ricky Holmes, Sam Hoskins and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were all named on the bench in the victory over Rovers and could make the step up.

Northampton have no new injury concerns for the match at Sixfields Stadium.

Blackpool will be without goalkeeper Colin Doyle for the tie.

Summer signing Doyle misses out having had to come off in the second half of the 2-2 League One draw at Colchester on Saturday due to a shoulder problem.

The 30-year-old ex-Birmingham man was replaced by fellow new recruit Kyle Letheren, who will deputise again.

Another pre-season arrival, midfielder John Herron, remains unavailable as a result of the knee complaint that saw him sit out Saturday's match, but otherwise boss Neil McDonald - also likely to make some changes - has a full squad to choose from.
