Cobblers boosted for Barnet clash

Northampton could be boosted by the return to fitness of a handful of players for the visit of relegation-threatened Barnet on the final day of the season.

Captain Kelvin Langmead (knee), fellow defender Joe Widdowson (knee), midfielder Ishmel Demontagnac (hamstring) and striker Clive Platt (calf) have all been absent in recent weeks.

Cobblers boss Aidy Boothroyd may ease them back into action against the Bees in order to get some minutes in their legs ahead of the forthcoming play-off campaign.

By the same token, Boothroyd may also take the opportunity to rest the likes of key midfielder Chris Hackett and leading scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa to ensure they are at full fitness for those games.

Academy product David Moyo was handed a surprise full debut against Port Vale last weekend and the teenage forward could keep his place in the squad after Boothroyd described his performance at Vale Park as "outstanding."

Barry Fuller returns to the Barnet squad.

The defender has missed the last four matches through suspension after he was sent off following the final whistle against Dagenham last month.

Fuller received an automatic two-match ban and the Football Association then doubled the suspension for his altercation with the referee.

Ricky Holmes remains on the sidelines with a foot injury and fellow striker Steve Kabba this week left the club following an injury-hit season.

Young winger Luke Gambin may have earned a start after climbing off the bench to set up Jake Hyde's dramatic late winner against Wycombe last weekend.

The Bees are a place and a point above the drop zone and need a victory to be certain of survival.
