The Cobblers stepped up their preparations for the new season on Wednesday night After two low-key friendlies Gary Johnson will have been pleased to see how his side stepped up their efforts against a strong Nottingham Forest squad at Sixfields. Jake Robinson made an impressive start in front of his new home fans with an early strike before the Reds hit back to win thanks to goals from former Cobblers man Luke Chambers and Lewis McGugan. Another Championship side come to Town on Saturday when Reading are the visitors.
