Langmead's Late Goals Add To Cobblers Contribution

Kelvin Langmead has been a force at both ends for Northampton this season

The defender scored his 7th league goal of the campaign at Morecambe on Tuesday to earn a vital late point for the Cobblers after similar last-gasp strikes secured a draw at Torquay and a win at Southend.

Langmead could line up in an unchanged side at Wycombe on Saturday with Aidy Boothroyd weighing up his options for another tough away trip.

The Town boss went with a 4-5-1 formation at the Globe Arena before throwing powerhouse strikers Clive Platt and Bayo Akinfenwa into the fray late on.

“It’s a 90-minute game and it is important for us to stay in the game for as long as possible," Boothroyd told the Chronicle & Echo.

“We know if we do that then we’ve got a good chance of winning it.

“The whole point of our formation on Tuesday was that we were solid and we didn’t give anything away."
