Johnson appeal turned down
Northampton defender John Johnson will miss the Carling Cup tie at Ipswich after the Football Association rejected his appeal against his red card at the weekend.
Johnson was dismissed in the final minute of Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Oxford but manager Ian Sampson felt the decision was harsh and lodged an appeal.
But the FA have decided the original decision stands meaning Johnson will not be available until the visit of Gillingham next weekend.
